No wonder my website will soon
begin a series on Faith. It seems I am a chief offender, as evidenced
this year regarding the revival.
We were at Gum Stand Baptist in
Pigeon Forge, which is a beautiful church with lovely people. However,
it was smaller than our previous church, First Baptist of Pigeon
Forge. Of all years, this year, we had more registrations than ever,
and actually overbooked by one hundred. What a catastrophe to turn
anyone away, or not have enough seating.
God had already sent the Holy Spirit
to witness to us that Gum Stand was His choice for this year, but
as time came closer, my faith began to wane. The day before the
meeting began, I asked God for perfect peace. His answer was immediate.
As long as I live I will never forget the feeling of calmness and
serenity He bestowed upon me. The meeting was “exceeding,
abundantly above all I could ask or think.”
Thursday evening Brother Joe Arthur
brought a message, “Anchored,” and The Whisnants sung
under the sweet anointing. Friday morning Brother Deen McNeese and
Brother Tom Gilliam preached to the men. They came away revived
and renewed, as we ladies did after our Friday afternoon service.
Linda Hick is a wonderful speaker, but, oh, when that lady sings…
Friday evening was truly a grand
finale’ and fitting conclusion to two wonderful days. Brother
Craig Edwards preached on a subject I had never heard preached before:
“Jesus Wept.” Oh, my, how we were lifted to Heavenly
places. Cheatem Hill choir, Brother Carl Partain and his children,
the Deliverance Quartet and Pigeon River Revival Band blended their
talents to make a memorable night.
The best part of the two days is this: Jesus Christ was lifted high
and many, many souls got some real help at the altar. I don’t
believe I’ve ever been in more powerful services.
If you have never attended Pigeon
River Revival, please make plans to do so. Next year we will be
at First Baptist Church in Sevierville. It will take place May 29th
and 30th. Seating will not be an issue. We will, of course, be posting
more information throughout the year. The Perry’s will be
with us next year and all our favorite evangelists.
I truly pray that my faith will
remain in tact. Have you ever felt anything sweeter than the Peace
of God?
Sincerely,
Kyla Rowland |
